TACO at NCMS 2024
TACO at the Nerd Culture Ministry Summit 2024
The Nerd Culture Ministry Summit (NCMS) 2024 was more than just an event—it was a vibrant convergence of faith, fandom, and innovation. For three unforgettable days, Glen Eyrie Castle in Colorado Springs became the backdrop where ministry leaders and digital missionaries united to explore how nerd culture can be a powerful vehicle for sharing the gospel. Keynote speakers challenged the audience to think differently about ministry, digital missions, and the integration of fun and faith.
The Alliance for Creative Outreach (TACO), was blessed to be a part of this amazing conference. Because of contributions from our community, TACO was able to set up a vendor table to share our mission with conference attendees. TACO Team Members TheQuizKing and Samus419, and volunteers Blanco and Ryvur, paid their own travel and accommodations to be there to represent our organization, and contribute to the summit. Our board members donated equipment for the table, and the dragon-shaped swag bags for all the event attendees.
“It was really cool to walk through the great hall,” Samus reflected. “It was a beautiful setting to be able to have discussions gaming and nerd culture. I had some amazing conversations with people who felt encouraged and supported as they continued their journey to bring God glory.
Meanwhile, TheQuizKing described the event as both overwhelming and invigorating. “It really did feel like a family reunion for nerd missionaries,” he said. “Meeting so many people who understand what we’re trying to do was inspiring. And seeing their reactions to the TACO booth—it was something special.”
Reflections on Speakers and Keynotes
The keynote sessions left a deep impression on attendees. Bubba Stallcup’s talk on leveraging mobile gaming for ministry was a standout for many. “He opened my eyes to the fact that in some parts of the world, mobile gaming is the only accessible form of entertainment,” said TheQuizKing. “The potential for reaching people in those spaces is enormous.”
Jaclyn S. Parrish’s session on the theology of fun resonated with Samus419. “It reminded me that joy and play are not just good—they’re godly. We need to embrace these elements as tools for connection,” she shared.
Why TACO Needs to Be at NCMS… and Beyond

What we learn and experience at these events helps refine TACO’s messaging and strategy, helping us act out our mission more effectively.
