Board & Volunteer Titles

The Board – The elected directors for the organization, when meeting or working as a group. The board manages staff, budget, and the regular activities of the organization. 

Board Members – Individual or collected members of The Board. Board members support and guide the organization. Board members are in charge of bringing the mission and vision to life.

Board Chair – The board chair organizes and oversees the board.

Financial Director – The financial director handles the financial activity of the organization.

Volunteers – People who have stepped forward as mission supporters and been officially onboarded as volunteers. Volunteers may help in specific roles, areas, topics, or events – or they may be more generally available to assist. They may be a solo volunteer, or may oversee the activity of a group.

Other Titles

TACO Tribe – all non-official members of the organization: the content creators, viewers, and supporters

TACO Trainees – those currently attending a TACO training class

TACO Alumni – those who have completed a TACO training class

Terminology

Quorum  A simple majority. Where a group is of even number, the attendance or vote of the Board Chair shall count as 2.

Moved and Seconded A move (or motion) is a formal suggestion made by a meeting attendee, requiring the agreement of others to move forward. When the suggestion is seconded by another attendee, the action is affirmed.
